A rat looked for food in a heap of garbage near a pond. He heard a frog croak and saw him leap high in the pond.
“How beautiful he looks!” said the rat. “If I could only leap like him.” The frog seemed to have sensed what the rat was thinking. He hopped near the rat and said “do you want to go places with me? You can find food where I go. Unlike what you have in the garbage.”

The rat was pleased. “How shall we travel together? I cannot hop and leap like you.”
“That would be easy. I will tie your foot to my hind leg. We look for food together.” The rat liked the idea. He would not have a hard time looking for food. Where the frog goes, he goes.
The frog was more pleased than the rat. He would use the rat as bait to catch his food. And off went the two strange friends.
They came to the shore of a river. The frog dived in and dragged the rat after him. The unfortunate rat drowned. His dead body rose to surface still tied to the frog’s hind legs.
